Each year, Krislund serves hundreds of campers through residential and day camp programming that emphasizes spiritual growth and renewal through small-group living, adventurous experience, presence in Creation, and intentional, faith-based programming. Campers of all backgrounds enjoy Krislund’s adventure course, wagon rides, big group games, all-camp worship, and especially the Thursday night bonfire. Typical Daily Schedule

Residential Camp

  • 7:00 Wake Up
  • 7:30 Breakfast
  • 8:15 Bible Study (counselor-led)
  • 9:30 Activity Block 1
    • Activity Blocks can include high adventure (ropes course, giant swing, rock wall, zipline), arts and crafts, STEM projects, team building, pool time, hiking, or other counselor-led activities
  • 11:00 Activity Block 2
  • 12:30 Lunch
  • 1:15 Rest Time
  • 2:15 Activity Block 3
  • 4:00 Activity Block 4
  • 5:30 Dinner
  • 6:30 All-Camp Evening Activity (Led by Leadership Staff)
    • Some favorite evening activities include Messy Olympics, Skits, Wagon Rides, Ultimate Red Light/Green Light or other wild and wacky games!
  • 7:30 Worship
  • 8:30 Open Evening Activities and Campfire
  • Note: We do offer residential counselors multiple breaks during the week, during which their campers are watched by another counselor or leadership team member

Day Camp

  • 7:00 Wake Up
  • 7:30 Breakfast
  • 7:50 – 9:15 Camper pick-up in State College and Lock Haven
    • Only staff age 21 and over drive vehicles, other counselors are support staff and manage campers during the drive
  • 9:45 Song and Dance
  • 10:00 Morning Activity
    • This is typically a counselor-led activity such as nature play, STEM project, hiking, arts and crafts, or blacklight dodgeball, all of which are covered during staff training!
  • 11:30 Lunch
  • 12:15 Bible Study (counselor-led)
  • 1:00 Pool
  • 2:30 Afternoon Activity
    • This may include another counselor-led activity or high adventure (rock wall or giant swing)
  • 4:45-6:15 Camper drop-off in State College or Lock Haven
  • 6:30 Dinner
  • 7:15 – 8:30 Be a resource to Residential Camp counselors and/or meet with the Day Camp Coordinator to discuss the next day’s activities
Pay and Benefits

Typical Pay Structure

  • First-year Counselors: $220/week
  • Returning Counselors: An additional $10/week for up to three years
  • Program Staff and Lifeguards: $245/week
  • Lifeguards may receive hourly pay dependent on their hours and/or housing
  • Summer Coordinator: $280/week
  • Health Officer: $375/week

Additional Remuneration

All staff members at Krislund are provided lodging and meals for the entire Summer, as well as use of Krislund’s laundry facilities and other resources with the Program Director’s permission. Lodging and meals are provided at an estimated value of $2,000 per staff member. Certifications provided during staff training add additional value of roughly $250 per staff member
