We know that finding childcare during the summer can be stressful – so we are here to help!
Krislund’s Day Camp program (for campers who have completed grades K-8) is the perfect way to get your child engaged with the outdoors, participate in new and fun activities, and make new friends. Day Campers spend their days in a variety of activities, including swimming, hiking, arts & crafts, field games, Adventure Park activities, and more, building deep, meaningful relationships with their peers and counselors along the way. There is never a dull moment at Day Camp!
Day Camp runs from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and transportation options are available - there will be drop-off and pick-up locations at University Park in State College and the Weis Market parking lot in Bellefonte.
In addition to standard camp activities, campers may also choose to add laser tag and the Wednesday night sleepover.
This year, we’ve added a variety of themes to our program which will allow Day Campers to experience new activities every week of the summer. The themes include:
Week One: Homecoming Week Six: STEM Week/Christmas in July
Week Two: Sink or Swim Week Seven: New Years in July
Week Three: Spy Week Week Eight: Sci Fi Week
Week Four: Taking Flight Week Nine: Green Connections
Week Five: Find Your Way Week Ten: Final Week Extravaganza
Group games, activities, crafts, and experiments will revolve around that week’s theme, as well as that week’s individualized bible study, “Branching Out,” and will provide new and exciting experiences all summer long. Campers will have the opportunity to personalize the Day Camp space and will create week-long and take-home projects to enrich their camp experience. Campers who attend the overnight will have the special opportunity to engage in nighttime-only crafts, games, and skill building.
Campers can sign up for one week or multiple weeks! The cost for Day Camp is $210 per week, which includes transportation, lunch, and activities, far more affordable than most day care programs. If you are providing your own transportation, the cost is $160 per week.
Immunization Policy for Krislund Summer Camp
Adopted 3-12-19 JCCC Board Meeting
For the protection of all campers and staff, it is the policy of Krislund to require vaccinations for communicable diseases for children who attend any summer camp program. If we do not have proof of vaccinations, the camper will have to depart camp until he/she can return with the immunization record.
Any camper with a religious exemption must have a signed and dated letter from their religious leader stating the objection and will be required to have a documented visit to a clinic or health facility within 10 days of arriving at camp stating they are in good health.
